BEAUTIFUL BIZARRE ARTIST DIRECTORY | We are excited to welcome artist @ninamurashkina ⭐
Nina Murashkina is a multi-disciplinary Ukrainian artist currently based in Spain. Murashkina’s vivid aesthetic is influenced by Ukrainian naive art, Indian and Japanese imagery, as well as ancient mythology. She describes her own artwork as “the delicious details from the Subconscious and the extreme limits allowed in social relations.” Her goddess-like heroines embody the dual nature of the woman: lustful and innocent, provocative and tender, brutally honest and darkly mysterious.“For me, the essence of creativity lies in storytelling, in crafting narratives where all characters are interconnected and live their lives within the story’s framework. I forge my own myth, a world teeming with Eros and Thanatos. Magical feminism shapes my worldview. I interpret reality through my own lens and recreate it in my artworks. The central figure is a woman—a potent force, a triumphant deity who can ride animals, wise men, or even the entire world. This portrayal of women, to me, embodies feminism, infused with magic that amplifies feminine qualities from a mythical perspective”.

"Habitually caught in a state of transience between the natural and the supernatural, the living and the dead, Lana’s sculptures are suffused with existential meanings, the symbols she uses creating a liminal space where she can process them: orchids and carnivorous plants, moths and bees, ghost pipes and ephemeral flames turn into moments captured forever in porcelain; recurring motifs in natural cycles of transformation, a threshold that can help her grapple with existential questions in material form."
Read about @lanafilippone and her work in the coming March issue of Beautiful Bizarre art magazine, in an essay by @danai_writing.

Travis Fountain (@fountain.nyc) is a Brooklyn-based visual artist and tattooer known for transforming personal stories into cinematic, one-of-one works of black-and-grey surrealism. With a background in engineering and a lifelong devotion to drawing, Travis approaches tattooing as an illustration-driven art form. What sets Travis apart is that clients give him meaning, not imagery; Instead of detailed visual requests, clients often share something small but meaningful - a core memory, a fleeting moment, or a song lyric - and Travis translates that into a symbolic, surrealist concept.
Travis’s process is rooted in traditional draftsmanship: pen-and-paper ideation, charcoal-inspired shading, and a study of light informed by chiaroscuro painting, photography, and film. His work has drawn international attention, leading him to tattoo in sixteen countries, cultivate a highly recognizable visual language, and earn respect across both the tattoo and fine-art communities.
Ultimately, his practice stands as a counterpoint to a culture trending toward automation and speed. Every mark is deliberate, every image is drawn slowly by hand, and every tattoo is treated as a narrative artifact. Each piece becomes a personal mythology rendered in light, shadow, and skin.
