Dear beautiful bizarre friends,
The 38th issue of Beautiful Bizarre Magazine, with iconic queer photographer Franz Szony’s magical photograph of Dita Von Teese on the cover is on sale now! Don’t miss this special issue, grab yours today via our website or one of our stockists worldwide.
I could talk about the seemingly never ending COVID pandemic again, but honestly it’s just exhausting, so let’s chat about some of the exciting projects we have on the horizon instead! Over the years I have had the pleasure of working with many queer artists, both for the magazine itself and for our curated exhibitions. Being able to connect with this issue’s cover artist Franz has inspired me to move forward with a wish that the team and I had conceived a little while ago: The September 2023 issue of Beautiful Bizarre Magazine will be our first issue to exclusively feature queer artists and designers!

We are doing our best to provide a platform to represent diversity and identities, and to highlight the voices of marginalised individuals and communities. There is no question that LGBTIQA+ folks belong in the spotlight, and that these kinds of spaces are necessary to change heteronormative and non-inclusive narratives in the arts. The September issue next year will be our contribution to celebrate the brilliance of queer visual artists working across styles and media, along with queer artisan fashion designers.
You may remember that the March 2021 issue was our first specialised issue, featuring all female presenting creatives. The September 2023 issue will be another expression of Beautiful Bizarre Magazine’s deep commitment to stand for and commit to gender diversity, equality, and representation in the visual arts globally.
So if you are a queer artist or designer, a queer artist couple, or have a friend/family member who is a queer creative, please do email our Social Media Manager Helena at [email protected]. This will enable us to curate a truly special queer issue next year. Of course this will also be a wonderful resource for all issues of Beautiful Bizarre Magazine. We look forward to hearing from you!
