If you are a fan of Japanese creepy-cute artwork and happen to be in Tokyo this summer, Vanilla Gallery has several dark and mind-bending exhibitions you will not want to miss. One of them is Chisa Kataoka‘s solo exhibition featuring her seemingly adorable but menacing creatures. Painted in cheerful colors, each one of her smiling creatures seems to pose various degrees of danger. In her artist statement, Chisa Kataoka mentioned that she merely paints the things that repeatedly cross her mind. Escape the routine and take a journey to a wondrous yet dangerous imaginary space. I dare you.
