In EXTREMELY COOL art news that we want to shout from the rooftop(s)📣, we learned that @annasokolovaartist 's delft blue artwork is adorning @maisonmargiela 's Fall 2021 “Artisanal” couture collection....say whaaaa??? How in the worrrrld did she get THAT gig??
SERIOUSLY - take a look at this video featuring Maison Margiela's creative director John Galliano (@jgalliano ) discussing how Anna so perfectly captured the pretty-meets-sinister vision for their collection....what a crazy-cool achievement, Anna!
Any artist would be over the moon but Anna's illustrative work for her Maison Margiela collaboration was further recognized with a SILVER MEDAL via the Society of Illustrators (@soi128 ) Annual Exhibition! Whoa...unreal.
Please allow Anna's artsy kick @$$ery to inspire YOU to achieve
your own creative greatness, too, and - of course - give her a much deserved high five.
We are so inspired by artists in our community who pull off feats of magic like this✨

The radiating beauty of this ‘White Barn Owl’ is so captivating! @lukehillestad took this oil painting right off the easel before New Year - a good way to end 2021! The piece was exhibited in @laartshow with @coprogallery. I wished I could admire this enchanting texture in person!

"If I am not satisfied with my work, I am a perfectionist who will break sections of my sculpture with a hammer. I am also a patient person who will spend many, many hours fixing those areas." - Melis Buyruk.
"I tend to view art as holistic and inseparable from life," @ericwixon says of his introspective abstract post-expressionism acrylic and spray paint works of art, which aren't just *portraits*....they're portraits within portraits within portraits.
The artist manifests his ever changing visual subtext - in this case, various different faces, birds, mountains, a rabbit, and an old woman - *intuitively* since his process is almost like a stream of consciousness exercise designed to help him "gain a better sense of my own awareness".
