Span Art Gallery is hosting a solo exhibition of new paintings from Ayaka Shinjo titled ‘A Fairy Tale of a Lady’. The work incorporates a lot of Shinto and Buddhist elements, presents it with gently flowing imagery and lines, and was largely influenced by the artist’s childhood experience of spending time in a Buddhist temple, and by “Noh” theater.
Span Art Gallery was founded in 1995 and is noted as one of the premier venues for sub-cultural works in Japan.
