Kelly Vivanco is an artist who is known for her ability to transfuse a childlike sense of wonder into her whimsical and imaginative works. Working with a variety of media, she takes inspirations from vintage photographs, children’s literature, and her own quirky dreams. Her works are collected in the U.S. and abroad, and her daily comic – “Patches” – has a worldwide following. She released her first illustrated children’s book “Snow White & Rose Red” in January 2014, and will release her second one, “Thumbelina”, later this year.
From March 12 till April 2, 2016, some of her paintings for the “Thumbelina” book – along with her other recent works – are going to be on view at her solo exhibition at Distinction Gallery. The opening reception is going to be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 6-10 pm; and, the artist will attend to meet, greet, and answer questions. If you decide to attend the opening reception, you’d be able to view much more than Kelly’s beautiful and enchanting works. Local artists within the building will have their studios open to the public as well.
