Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize 2022: iCanvas Digital Art Finalists Announced

This year’s Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize judging process has not been easy for our Jury Panel, with so many excellent Digital Art entries from countries all over the world. It has been a fascinating year within the broad realm of digital art, and the Beautiful Bizarre team have been impressed again and again!

We received entries from artists creating digital paintings and drawings, digital 3D art, vector, digital collage and photomanipulations. The plethora of software apps used include: Adobe Creative Suite; Wacom Cintiq 24 Pro; Keyshot; Maya; Zbrush; Procreate; Redshift; Cinema 4D; Daz; Substance Designer; Marvellous Designer; Sidefx Houdini; V-ray; 3dsmax; Corona Renderer; Octane; Corel Painter; Affinity Photo; GiMP; RunwayML; Nuke; Krita; Lightroom; Blender; Microsoft Paint 3D; Daz Studio; PicsArt; Poser Pro 11; Marmoset Toolbag 3 and Pixelsquid 360.

The use of new AI software Midjourney has also entered the limelight this year, opening up further deliberations about the world of artist-AI collaborations. This is something that our team will be exploring further, but without a doubt, we are excited to see how more artists use AI-generated artworks as a base from which to then build their own, final artworks.

Hardware was just as diverse including: Alienware PC; Android and Apple mobile phones; Apple iMac, Macbook Pro, iPad Pro, Apple Pencil; Wacom Cintiq; Wacom Intuos; Huion Kamvas Pro; Microsoft Surface Pro; Microsoft Windows 10; Dell; HP; Samsung Chromebook; Huion Ink Tablet; Canon; Nikon; Sony; Pentax; Zeiss; Fijufilm; Black Pen.

The Prize seeks to inspire creatives from around the world to pursue a life and career in the arts, and to help careers grow through funding and increased exposure of their work to galleries, collectors and media globally.
