Baker + Hesseldenz sent twenty nine cubes to twenty nine fine-artists around the world to customize. The completed pieces are diverse in themes, subject matters, and styles. Ranging from dark conceptual works to playful lowbrow pieces, the artists covered each side of the cubes either with photo-realistic paintings, stylized portraits, abstract motifs, or geometric designs. Nevertheless, through meticulous and well-considered curation, there is a strong cohesiveness that unite these diverse artworks together. Since most of the participating artists (listed below) are known for their paintings on traditional surfaces (e.g. canvases, boards, or paper), this is a rare opportunity to view their works on sculptural forms.
