Tender support: @johanbarrios’ oil painting ‘Surrounding’ speaks a language of love, care and connection. Surround yourself with your companions, friends and important ones, carry and be carried. The intimacy and tenderness of Johan’s creations is something truly exceptional and powerful: His complex compositions stand out through a balance, not only in matters of the arrangement of his subjects but by connecting a representation of tension with comfort and ease.

In the coffee table book ‘Dark & Dystopian Post-Mortem Fairy Tales’, @mothmeister - the alter ego of an anonymous Belgian artistic duo - pays tribute to the many muses that incited its surprising and eccentric dreamworld. These range from artists around the globe, legendary figures and myths and a quirky taxidermy collection to desolate places where its most grotesque and often melancholic characters were born, such as the Capuchin Catacombs of Palermo, the abandoned town Pyramiden in Spitsbergen or the site of the Chernobyl disaster. All of this flows into a unique dreamworld that flirts with the morbid, religious and often clownish aspects of life, in which mounted animals are brought back to life in the most unusual ways.
