Welcome to the 48th Issue of Beautiful Bizarre Magazine, with the Canadian artist Megan Ellen MacDonald’s naughty kitty on the cover.

Enjoy our Editor-in-Chief’s Note from the Editor, published in Beautiful Bizarre Magazine Issue 48
How often do we see this idiom ‘bite the hand that feeds you’ play out in real life? And I don’t mean just our pets! I’m sure we have all experienced this both in our personal and public lives. Someone we trust and support betrays us. It currently feels like much of the world is leaning into fascism and authoritarianism, and frankly this terrifies me. Do our governments really represent the majority of people? Are they working for the people, or for themselves?
In these troubling times art can be our light. What we share with each other through art is our humanity. As those in power try to create division, we can choose empathy, compassion, and kindness. Art is our solace, and our message of hope.
In these troubling times art can be our light. What we share with each other through art is our humanity. As those in power try to create division, we can choose empathy, compassion, and kindness. Art is our solace, and our message of hope. It is our special language that can bridge the gap between ourselves and others, both within our own countries and across the world. Speak your truth, express your pain and your hope, and share it with the world!

I am personally deeply grateful that I have been able to create a safe space for artists around the globe to express their hearts and souls without prejudice. Beautiful Bizarre Magazine and our online community will always be a haven for you to freely express yourself through your artwork – a place of kindness, inclusivity and connection.

We have also decided to split the Traditional Art Award into two separate award categories: RAYMAR Painting Award and Victoria Olt Gallery Drawing Award – thus giving artists even more opportunities to receive the recognition they deserve, and of course to win amazing cash and product/service prizes!
