Here we are settling into the month of August and it’s hard to believe how quickly the days have passed. As the seasons shift and we find ourselves constantly moving, Modern Eden Gallery invites us to pause and reflect on three beautiful new exhibitions opening tonight: Leilani Bustamante’s Timelines, Shannon Taylor’s Minor Mending and the group exhibition The Weight of Feeling.
Through different perspectives and artist languages, these collections give us an opportunity to consider all the invisible threads that connect us and the many ways we recognize pieces of ourselves in the stories being told.

Leilani Bustamante: Timelines
Timelines is a meditation on the invisible histories we carry. Within these portraits, flowers bloom where memories take root, vines trace unseen connections, and the body becomes a vessel for seasons both past and future.
Leilani Bustamante’s paintings inhabit the space where transformation is constant and identity is never fixed. Beauty is found not in permanence, but in continual becoming—where growth emerges from what has faded, and every scar, bloom, and shadow exists as part of a larger cycle.
With luminous color and quiet symbolism, Timelines invites us to reflect on the ways time shapes us, not as a straight path forward, but as an ever-expanding experience of remembrance, change, and renewal.
Shannon Taylor: Minor Mending
In “Minor Mending”, Shannon Taylor explores the quiet, ongoing work of repair through exquisitely crafted watercolor paintings and miniature mixed-media worlds. Flowers bloom from unexpected places, stars scatter across radiant skies, and tiny hand-built scenes unfold within intimate objects that invite close looking. Combining meticulous craftsmanship with luminous color and intricate layers of detail, the exhibition reflects on healing as a gradual process—one shaped by tenderness, resilience, and the small acts of care that slowly transform what has been broken into something beautiful.
The Weight of Feeling
The Weight of Feeling explores the emotional experiences we carry beneath the surface, giving form to the often unseen landscapes of our inner world. The artists in this exhibition examine themes of grief, longing, anxiety, tenderness, resilience, and hope to make the intangible visible. Each work offers a deeply personal reflection on the ways emotion shapes memory, identity, and our connection to one another. Together, these voices remind us that while our experiences may differ, the weight of feeling is a universal part of being human.
