CODA celebrates ‘Universal Monsters’ taking over Los Angeles and Austin

CODA, in conjunction with Sideshow Art Prints and Universal Studios, are pleased to present an officially licensed art exhibition celebrating the enduring legacy of the Universal Monsters. Drawing from nearly a century of cinematic iconography, the exhibition explores how archetypes like Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon continue to reflect our shifting cultural anxieties and desires.

Represented across a wide range of mediums and aesthetics including oil painting, sculpture and digital illustration, this exhibition pays homage to the gothic imagination through a distinctly 21st-century visual language, revealing how these figures persist not as relics of early cinema but as evolving symbols of empathy, alienation, and the search for identity in contemporary culture.

Starting on October 24th, two exhibitions will open simultaneously in Los Angeles, CA and Austin, TX. These concurrent exhibitions will feature all new original artwork, collectible figures and limited-edition posters created exclusively for the two respective exhibitions.

In addition to the two gallery shows, CODA is pleased to present a very special Halloween screening of The Mummy (1932) at the world-famous Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles on October 31st.

A new limited edition screen print by Francesco Francavilla will be available for in-person purchase at the event.
