In @lesleythiel’s high school years, she was always connected to art, however a teacher suggested that she’d be better suited for another career path (!!!). (Ugh…apparently not all of them are brilliant.)
After earning a PhD, the UK-born creative spent many years in medical research, however her heart ended up pulling her back to her first love – painting!
The largely self-taught photorealistic artist secured gallery representation within 2 years of her newly chartered art path and today, she is kicking creative tushy and taking names (in fact, we were proud to include Lesley’s “Gossip Girls” in our 2021 group exhibition ANIMALIA 😊!

Painter @ari_delamora explores with her pieces the realm of female portraits and their juxtapositions with culture and nature. Born and raised in Mexico, Ari is passionate about the connections between community and culture and spaces that aim to facilitate such relations. 'Piensa En Mi' (translated 'Think Of Me') highlights the artist's heritage and identity translated to the world of contemporary art - a strong and beautiful connection.
"My work is, first and foremost figurative studies. It's what I like to paint, my biggest challenge and my greatest payoff. My nondescript surroundings help me create a mood or a story that I am trying to relay through my painting. Inspiration comes from architectural interiors and fashion, and my work allows me to explore and explain this side of myself. Seeing how the work evolves, the subtle and the drastic differences, and looking forward to the future is what keeps me painting. I view a painting as a success when I take something new that follows me into my next work. It's just about learning to become a better painter."
With his oil paintings, captivating portraits and sceneries, @mcarson1999 allows us to follow his journey of expression and studies. The visibility of the brushstrokes in this work adds another layer of fascination and texture - I love it!
Dutch still life and the masterpieces we relate to this category never get old, not even after centuries!
Oil painter @anniestegg shares in the caption of this piece: "I was inspired by both the Dutch still life paintings of the 1800s and the appetite of my tortoise Morla, whose favourite treat is the flowers that grow outside the studio."
