Despite the darkly humorous vibe of Andreas Claussen's (@andy.claussen) somewhat 'hell in a handbasket' imaginings, featuring a lone astronaut who - in this case - has nothing more than a blow-up 'emotional support pig' to keep him company, he's actually a problem solving eco-optimist.
Andreas says that the following quote from Andy Weir's 2011 science fiction novel, The Martian, is "the mindset I have and want to spread":
"At some point, everything’s going to go south on you. You’re going to say, This is it. This is how I end. Now, you can either accept that, or you can get to work. You solve the problem, and then you solve the next problem, and the next, and if you solve enough problems, you get to go home."
We quite like the idea of an emotional support oinker helping us to cope a wee bit better with our immediate problems👌🏻🐖🤍
Title: "Don't Ever Wrestle With A Pig"
Artist: Andreas Claussen (@andy.claussen)
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Dimensions: 120 x 120 x 3 cm
@_thearchangel__’s digital illustration ‘Evanescence - The Last Insomnium’ perfectly displays the artist’s passionate attention to tiny details and the design of his characters. “Occult artist and word connoisseur” Vasudev excites the viewers with the beauty of darkness and “romanticism of death”.
“I work myself to the bone. I often work 80 hours a week. I create art for my day job from ten in the morning until eight at night, and then I work on my own paintings until about two in the morning. People have told me to stop painting so much, that I put too much time into it, that I’m killing myself and that I’m too obsessive with my painting.”

The incredible beauty of @kelseyjbeckett’s oil painting ‘Wandering Soul’ captivates heart and mind. The complex layering and all these fine floral details and patterns are a dream come true and amazing features of the artist’s portraits. Kelsey exhibited this fantastic work in her solo exhibition ‘Anemoia’ at @spoke_art last year.
Adorable and macabre: @henriette_zapel reconstructs vintage porcelain sculptures and gives them a beautiful, bizarre twist. The tiny sculpture ‘Up, up and away’ is definitely one of my favourites amongst Henriette’s creations - a minor but impactful and smart modification, I would say 🤣
