It is pure joy to look at @fuji1kenobe’s paintings! The artist Maya is inspired by Japanese folklore and cultural heritage which she connects in her work with the perspectives and experiences she explores living in the United States. Maya Fuji’s female figures seem to float through a surreal, timeless space, “encompassing abstraction, texture, vulnerability, and mystique”.
Beauty meets darkness: Meet the digital artist @maliceghoul and her enchanting female protagonists. The illustration ‘Yurei XLXXIV’ depicts a lost fainted soul or spirit called Yūrei in Japanese folklore. Similar to ghosts, these lost souls dwell on earth barred from a peaceful life after death. Just look into these empty eyes, truly haunting!
