To watch @rolandmikhail and witness his working process is simply mindblowing. This video hints about the attention the artist dedicates to each tiny detail and how he achieves to create such intricate and delicate compositions. Roland has been working on this particular piece since 2016.
‘You Must Not Miss’ is a stunning book cover @mynameistran created for @katrinalenobooks and a publication two years ago. Tran explains: “The book revolves around young Magpie Lewis and her unfortunate life circumstances which inevitably leads her into the mysterious world of Near. In this world, her life is perfect, and she's able to conjure everything that she's ever wanted, including revenge on those that wronged her in the past.”
“When I was a child, I always thought that someday someone, like the knight in the fairy tale, would shield me from wind and rain, protect me from the abusers, heal my pain and give me happiness. However, after I grew up, such a person never appeared. Eventually, I became my own knight.”
In the last chapter of ‘A song to myself’, @ddanne1984 tells the story of ‘Amor’ and how the artist forged her protection, transforming soft wool into hard metal. DD-Anne finished this doll within two months after assembling 207 pieces of patterns and 394 pearls.
‘A Shiny Object’ attracts our attention, but we shouldn’t lose the sense of our surroundings and possible predators… it might have severe consequences! @nicholasmoegly with a metaphorical reality check wrapped in one of his stunning night walk-sceneries. Watch your back, people!
I ‘Melt’ for @jisuartist’s work! Colours and shapes popping, wild compositions, and trippy eyes… sounds and looks very much like Jisu. The digital artist is known for her female figures that reside in a psychedelic (and yet kind of dark) universe: If you ask me, it is these eyes that genuinely touch my soul.
“Somewhere in between…
she went for a wander,
to draw a breath
alone in the woods
they are coming, versions of women
I am many. We are many.”
@wypychanna contextualises the versatile, complex and multifaceted nature of femininity with this oil painting. As a woman, there is not a single version of us, and we are not alone - we fit so many roles, reason between the mind and the heart and everything in between. The artist concludes: “That obvious truth, there are many of you.”
“I reside in two places. One is the good old real world; the second is a virtual space that looks forward. The future depends on technology and aims at functionality. The past relies upon beliefs and deals with unfathomable deities. I explore the collision between these extremes.”
Digital artist @obscurumfabulous aka Seryozha Parshakov, explores spaces in between: For this piece, he focused on the intersection of nature and technology in the future, where “technology became nature itself”.
