Modern Eden Gallery Presents Mary Syring, ‘I Told the Spiders About You’

Modern Eden Gallery invites you to join them in celebration of Mary Syring‘s haunting new solo exhibition, “I Told the Spiders About You”. This collection steps into the shadows where dark tales are spun into intricate, inescapable truths. Every thread reminds you that even the smallest creatures hold the largest wisdom. Sometimes in the quietest moments we find clarity. Syring explores the weight of this silence and the transformative power of fire through vision and voice.

Additionally, you can escape into their ICON Group Exhibition, featuring an amazing selection of artists and a theme that honors “Gothic Queer and Femme Legends”.

ICON celebrates portraits and portrayals of the figures who embody gothic, queer, and femme power, in all its forms. From mythic deities and revolutionary muses to tragic heroines and gender defiant icons, these figures expand how we imagine identity, beauty, resistance, and desire. They move beyond binaries, reshaping history and haunting the present with unapologetic queer presence.

Featuring Angelique Benicio, Glenn Arthur, Shannon Taylor, Mary Esther Muñoz, Krisztina Lazar, Sandra Yagi, Ryan Martin, Jo Tomsick, Keight MacLean, Nadezda, Morgan Booth, Lance Hewison, Alessandra Maria, and Leilani Bustamante.

In ‘I told the spiders about you’, San Francisco artist Mary Syring explores female rage through portraits of women set within gothic and folkloric worlds. Inspired by Victorian and Edwardian imagery and shaped by the surreal nature of her imagination, these works reflect on silence, fire, and the weight of unspoken stories. The result is a body of art that feels both timeless and deeply connected to the present moment.
