I am an artist, designer, writer, and advocate for expression.
I attended a performing arts high school then pursued visual arts in college. Now living in San Francisco, I am in my final semester at California College of the Arts and beginning to show my work in galleries such as Modern Eden where I also contribute as a general assistant and blog writer.
My personal aesthetic is particular - I enjoy all things decorative, ornate, romantic, feminine, and reminiscent of centuries ago. But I love a little edge, boldness, and refreshing surprise. I like to say that I am "reviving 1970's Art Nouveau revival".
My paintings usually involve portraits of women and focus on empowerment through freedom of expression and outer beauty as a symbol for what is inside. I also enjoy infusing my paintings with nods to current trends in fashion, decor, and society and translating these motifs to functional textiles and patterns.
Writing about art is an honor for me because I believe that our present society underrates the value of creativity so anything I can do to expose the beauty (and the bizarre) is time well spent.
