The themes of femininity and nature in my paintings for me are an embodiment of transformation and solitude. She portray females from everyday life, history, and fiction that have to make choices that alter their lives. Paintings with animals represent protectors and emotional support. They also have traditional symbolism that stems from the history of Christian paintings.

Felicia finds that the paintings that represent transition lack an animal companion, since some transitions in life should be braved alone. She’s also interested in the theme of the doppelganger. Some of her paintings have 2 figures that are meant to be a metaphor of duality. This could be in the traditional sense of duality, or the filters that we create for our public facade.
