Born in 1997 in Pietrasanta, Lucca (Italy), Stagah Artworks have been dealing with illustration, art history and etching since 2016. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Graphic Arts and Etching at Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. Later on she attended an Etching Master at Il Bisonte Foundation for Art and Printmaking in Florence after winning “Franco Sassi” award for the best etching presented at Inchiostro Festival 2023 in Alessandria, and Marvelous Art Gallery “Artist of the year – Illustration category” award winner, 2024.
Stagah Artworks is presently collaborating with both Italian and international publishers as well as art galleries. She works with mixed media techniques like photo manipulation and digital illustration but also traditional drawing.
Stagah Artworks artistic and historical research is based on her deep passion for mythology and traditional dark folktales. She thinks that dark fairy tales are fundamental for humanity because they provide a mix of adventure, emotional release, and psychological engagement. These stories are deeply connected with universal human experiences and fears, making them timeless and compelling.
They also show us life in its complexity: the line between good and evil isn’t always clear, and the characters, even the positive ones, have grotesque traits that make them much more human compared to contemporary fairy tales.
She would like to be able to best represent humanity in its purest spirituality, linked to an animal past and connected to the earth, wrapped by its darkness, a darkness that is not negative but appears perfectly natural.
