Don’t be overwhelmed by all this ‘Dirty Laundry’! Painter @shawn_huckins reinterprets the format of traditional portraits, representing his social and political commentary through textiles and drapery. Not only that this idea is really captivating and thought-provoking, but the technical execution is absolutely enchanting!
"I am a visual artist with a deep desire to connect to nature, to my audience and to myself. I play with nature, movement, light and texture to create evocative, figurative images, which are connected to the subconscious".
Photographer and self-portrait artist @kellienorthcreative creates whimsical narratives and visuals that move our souls and hearts through the energy she summons in her images. How beautiful are these colours and the composition in this piece?
“Hand-carved over many months, this octopus made of a single piece of manzanita burl unrolls itself as it moves over a reef. The wood the octopus appears to be moving across is the manzanita burl left in its natural state. The beautiful spots and swirls in this wood are similar to the mottled patterning of an octopus.“
I am in love with this fantastic sculpture created by the one and only @caseyparlettesculpture, an artist dedicated to representing the beauty and magic of nature and its inhabitants. As Octopuses hold a special in my heart, I adore especially this wooden piece.

NEW BLOG POST // A Note From the Editor: A Platform to Represent Diversity
"Over the years I have had the pleasure of working with many queer artists, both for the magazine itself and for our curated exhibitions. Being able to connect with the current issue’s cover artist Franz has inspired me to move forward with a wish that the team and I had conceived a little while ago: The September 2023 issue of Beautiful Bizarre Magazine will be our first issue to exclusively feature queer artists and designers! There is no question that LGBTIQA+ folks belong in the spotlight, and that these kinds of spaces are necessary to change heteronormative and non-inclusive narratives in the arts. The September issue next year will be our contribution to celebrate the brilliance of queer visual artists working across styles and media, along with queer artisan fashion designers. So if you are a queer artist or designer, a queer artist couple, or have a friend/family member who is a queer creative, please do email our Social Media Manager Helena at email@example.com. This will enable us to curate a truly special queer issue next year. Of course this will also be a wonderful resource for all issues of Beautiful Bizarre Magazine. We look forward to hearing from you!"

Creating a work of art and then releasing it into the world is an act of love.
It requires untold hours of contemplation and artistic tweakery, resulting in the final piece which is tangible proof of an artist's heart, soul, and their very essence.
For those of you who are interested in seeing how a painting like this evolves throughout time and an extensive amount of effort, please take a few moments to scroll through @tony_thielen's process shots (images 2 - 7).
**This is ZOOM-worthy art, so pull out your magnifying glass, please!**
Much respect to the Santa Fe, New Mexico-based artist, who seems to be a stickler for the little details that have imbued this portrait with so much more visual interest and warmth. ♡☺️♡
