NEW BLOG // Art is a visual language, what are you hoping to communicate to the viewer through your work? “I rarely take naps, I drink too much caffeine and the feeling of lying in bed in the middle of the day is usually just a magnification of the vague feelings of overstimulation. On the rare occasion that I have, I think sleep feels different in the daytime, that sort of liminal weirdness of being between waking and sleeping was the thing I wanted to get into this drawing.”
“The person you recognize as yourself exists only for you. No one around you knows you as you see yourself. Every person you know has a different idea of you.”
@sergeyfett approaches his medium with a very conceptual perspective and a strong dedication to carefully curated compositions. Sergey shares on his website: “My work is inextricably linked with the way I see the world and myself in it. Photography is my way of seeing the ideal in the ordinary. I strive to create calm images with a sense of rigor and order in terms of visual representation. My work intentionally rarely shows a face, as I want the viewer to understand that there could be anyone behind the image.”
@toshiyuki_enoki’s dreamlike portraits combine the beauty of texture, floral patterns, and figurative paintings. The painting ‘Swirling Thoughts’ is part of a series that displays females in a contemplative state with a notebook: The subjects become one with the background, edges become indifferent - the body dissolves in the realm of thoughts.
