We chatted with Era Contemporary's curator @jessicaliborstudio about how this unique exhibition came about - particularly because all of the art is now a permanent part of the Lunar Codex time capsule that is being sent to the moon - so please take a moment to read our exclusive interview with her...
BUT if you're too busy right now, please just read this one touching comment that she shared with us about her reason for being in the art world:
"In my personal experience, you can gather all the personal achievements in the world, but they’re not nearly as fulfilling unless you’re connected to other people and creating something meaningful to share with them. I love the concept of a rising tide lifting all ships. Together, we can create something larger and stronger, an artistic community to lift each other up and inspire the world. I think that creating things that give people hope, connection and wonder – whether through making art, curating, or teaching – is incredibly meaningful."

No human is to be seen in a place far, far away, and it looks beautiful! The page @leonoracarringtonestate is run by the artist’s grandson, who archives Leonora’s work and shares it with the world. Swipe to discover the full beauty of this piece!
Everybody finds their own way to process grief: After the loss of a friend, artist @antcarver decided to initiate a series of works with this mural on Brick Lane in London. The painter’s portraits captivate us with relatable expressions and contagious energy, a heaviness that creeps its way from the subject’s eyes out of the composition towards the viewers.
“Throughout the ages, the Jaguar has moved between forests, rivers, and streams, living in tandem with us and our ancestors. Indigenous peoples have revered him as the sacred reference point since the beginning of time, and he is still seen as the innate regulator of nature today. It has been honoured, consulted, and loved by Latin American rural and urban communities for its imposing character, strength, and beauty.”
This is @katherine_gailer_art’s celebration of the international day of the jaguar, encouraging the public to care for and respect the natural corridors allowing these majestic creatures to move and survive. An edition of 20 items is for sale: Moreover, 40 percent of all profits will be donated to World Of Wild Life to selected projects based in Latin America doing conservation work in areas where the jaguar lives. Head over to the artist’s profile to know more!
“Experimentation is a key part of any artistic growth.”
Photographer @thetylershields and his iconic frames and subjects have conquered the art world. Best known for his collaborations with numerous celebrities, his obscure and often challenging works aim for a level over the-top.
“Women have always tried to control their own reproduction. Healers, midwives, and ‘witches’ advised other women how to conceive when they wanted to, how to avoid conceiving when they didn’t want to, and how, when there were no other options, to miscarry. This ‘control’ was uncertain and dangerous, but essential to the well-being of women and their families.” Painter @jessemockrin continues in the caption of this amazing and powerful piece: “Now we have medical care that can provide women with control over their own reproduction safely, and the male majority on the Supreme Court wants to send us back several hundred years?”
