INSIDE ISSUE 39 // "Thoughts and emotions give rise to the image of a person in a certain movement that I then visualise on the canvas. Since I am trying to be true in my paintings, they are like emotional self-portraits. I can experience and feel only my emotions. Even when I imagine other people's emotions, I still interpret them through the prism of my own unique experience.”

The writhing bull in this deeply symbolic (and rather darrrrrk) painting by airbrush artist @giampieroabate is emblematic of the endless struggles that mother nature must endure at the hand of humanity.
We attempt to dominate, contain, alter, and decimate the natural world - oftentimes under the guise of progress and development - but tend to forget that the two steps *that we think we take* F O R W A R D end up whooping us in the🦵🍑butt.
The Italian painter further incorporates a 12 sided dodecahedron into this composition to represent the laws of the universe, begging the question, "Will nature or humanity ultimately prevail?"
Medium: Airbrush acrylic on canvas
Dimensions: 100 x 80 cm
Feel as if you're one with the textures. Curl up with a cup of tea and linger in the dreamy, intimate narratives of @katerinaspopova's painterly expressions.
This stunning piece was part of “Enjoy The View”, the first International solo exhibition by Ekaterina that opened in November at @cohlegallery in Paris.

OIL ON CANVAS
40 × 30 in | 101.6 × 76.2 cm
From the press release // "These works are about enjoying the actual views depicted in her rich, painterly compositions but are also a metaphor for taking the time to be present and mindful in one’s life. She inspires and encourages us to savor every moment and to fall in love with the people and places that add color to our lives. In these paintings of decadent rooms, unmade beds, airy balconies and open windows, the artist playfully explores texture and light with oil paint."
Works are available through COHLE GALLERY. Please contact the artist or gallery directly to learn more.
Wow this is just jaw-dropping! The attention to detail, the reflective elements of light and contrast, the torn paper...I could go on. The artistic prowess is deeply inspiring. 'I Can Fix This' - Charcoal Pencil on Paper (2022) from @jonodry is incredible.
🎁✨Since we’re all looking for special holiday gifts for our art-loving friends and family, we’ve been sharing a few newly published art books in the past few weeks that have caught our eye.✨🎁
Why ART BOOKS? Well, many of us have aspirations to own original art but it’s just not in the cards right now due to other pressing financial commitments.
However, art books are a perfectly affordable way of demonstrating that we appreciate what our favorite contemporary artists create, **plus** we can snuggle up with each volume, making each rainy day infinitely brighter - and in the case of @andy.claussen’s brand new release - a whole lot colorful and textural, too!
If you know someone who loves juicy technicolor paintings that have an intriguing eco-narrative tempered with a humorous twist, Andreas Claussen’s “Flood” will probably make them smile☺️
