We find ourselves in the season of Allhallowtide, where energies drift gently through the air, carried by the breeze of twilight. Stars align as shadows cast in the hollows of a setting sun and rising moon. It is a divine time of watchful synchronicities, change, and symbolism.
What calls out to you in the murmurs of night? A gravestone bell chimes in the distant. Will you answer?
Bound by the realm of creativity, the benchmark of All Hallows’ Eve cast charms and spells that linger with glowing Jack-o’-lanterns and empty candy wrappers, costumes and ghost stories of the undead that stir our imaginations like a witch’s cauldron… inviting us all to dance with the darkness.
Join Abend Gallery this weekend as they proudly present “Monster Mash”, a new group exhibition celebrating an irresistible Halloween aesthetic you’ll simply die for.

Abend Gallery Presents: “Monster Mash” Press //
This October, Abend Gallery invites you to step into a world of classic Halloween frights and delights with their latest exhibition, “Monster Mash.” This show is a celebration of old school Halloween monsters and aesthetics, bringing to life the iconic characters and imagery that have defined the spookiest holiday of the year.
Visitors can expect to encounter a ghoulish gathering of familiar faces: jack o’lanterns, Dracula, headless horsemen, Frankenstein, werewolves, ghosts, ghouls, haunted houses, witches, and boogeymen. The artworks on display range from the humorous and quirky to the genuinely spooky, all dripping with iconic All Hallows’ Eve atmosphere.
“Monster Mash” serves as an exciting tie-in with Drawtober, the popular art challenge created by Timothy Von Rueden (Vonnart) alongside his hosts Josh Von Rueden, Sang Lam, Dustin Panzino(inkwell), Rin Marks, and Babs Webb. This connection adds an extra layer of creativity and community engagement to the exhibition.

The show is curated by the husband-and-wife team of David Ethridge, curator of Abend Gallery and Director of Gallery 1261, and dark fantasy illustrator Babs Webb, who is also participating in the show. Their collaborative effort brings a unique perspective to this Halloween-themed exhibition.
David Ethridge shares his enthusiasm for the project: “Babs had suggested doing a Halloween show to me earlier this year, and I loved the idea! It’s exciting to be showcasing a lot of artists that we haven’t worked with before, and I’m thrilled to see the show debut. And, of course, I’m also excited to be working with my wife, the talented Babs Webb.”

Babs Webb adds her personal touch to the exhibition: “This is a love letter to my favorite holiday featuring artworks by artists that are near and dear to my heart.” Her statement underscores the passion and personal connection behind this unique showcase.
Whether you’re a fan of classic movie monsters, eerie atmospheres, or the whimsical side of Halloween, “Monster Mash” offers something for everyone. It’s an opportunity to see how contemporary artists interpret and reimagine the classic monsters and aesthetics that have defined Halloween for generations. Don’t miss this spellbinding exhibition at Abend Gallery’s Golden Triangle location. “Monster Mash” runs from October 11th to November 12th, offering plenty of time to get into the Halloween spirit.
