Denver based art gallery, Sally Centigrade is launching a new artist in residency program with the residencies starting as soon as January 2017. The program includes lodging and a commission free art show and lasts between 1-3 months.

Included in Residency: Apartment provided for the artist to live in, studio space to create in is also provided. The artist will also be given a commission free show (either a full run show or a pop up show depending on the length of the residency). The artist will be required to get to Denver on their own, and they will be expected to spend 21 hours a week at the art gallery (which they are able to use as a studio while there).
Sally Centigrade Art Gallery was founded in 2014 by artist Myah Mazcara and arts writer Scott Bailey as a place to host contemporary art including painting, illustration and sculpture with an emphasis on small size works from the pop surreal movement. We have been featured on Arrested Motion, Beautiful Bizarre and Platinum Cheese, and our artists have been in publications including Juxtapoz, Hi-Fructose, Catapult and countless others. Sally Centigrade was chosen as Best Lowbrow / Pop Surreal gallery by Westword Magazine in 2016. Sally Centigrade Art Gallery has fostered and supported the work of many of Denver’s most engaging artists, and has built bridges to artist communities around the globe.
Sally Centigrade’s visiting artist residency aims to bring new artists to Denver allowing them to create work in the unique Colorado setting, and fully immerse into the Denver art scene. The experience will be full circle, including creating a new body of work, being taught how to write a press release, promote the show through local and global media and run the actual opening reception. The aim is to give the artist a robust experience of the entire art creating and exhibiting process, and potentially have a high profile show.
