From October 24th to November 14, Alice and Beanstalks Gallery is going to present two concurrent exhibitions: Nathan Cartwright‘s solo exhibition ‘Elements‘, as well as Dark Alice Show – a group exhibition that features the  works of 24 Japanese and international artists of various mediums.

Nathan Cartwright‘s solo exhibition, “Elements”, examines for main alchemical elements (earth, water, fire, and air), and the wrathful titans that rule them all. These titans wreak havoc on little ‘happy faced’ characters the artist calls ‘The Man’: A metaphoric emoji figure – central in his work – that symbolizes people’s inauthentic, non-actualized consciousness. Each element is a metaphor of the self, and the cleansing titans are archetypes of our inner powers and fully activated consciousness.

ネイソン・カーライトの個展　[エレメンツ]は錬金術の四大要素（土、水、火、気）を吟味し、激怒した巨人達がそのすべての四大要素を支配しています。これらの巨人達は笑顔の小人達、（ネイソンは”人”と呼んでいます）（比喩的な絵文字が彼の作品の中に常に存在しています）　それは人間の自己の未発達、自己の不確立を打ち壊すことを表現しています。　一つ一つの元素は「自身」を比喩しており、浄化している巨人達は私たちの内なる原型の力、活発な意識を表しています。

Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland‘ is one of the stories that is well loved by many artists. Many of them are obsessed with the story’s peculiar characters, as well as the darker aspects and interpretations of the story. For this group exhibition, the gallery asked 24 local and international artists to explore the very theme. Expect to see numerous stunning sculptures, paintings, art toys, jewelry, ceramics, as well as eraser stamp artworks in this show.

ルイス・キャロルの不思議の国のアリスは多くのアーティストに愛されている物語の一つです。多くのアーティストが奇妙なキャラクター、暗い面、物語の解釈に心奪われています。この展示会では２４人の国内外のアーティストがこのテーマについて探究しました。彫刻、絵画、アートトイ、陶器、消しゴムアートなどの多くの素晴らしいアートをご期待ください。
