Alice and Beanstalks Gallery presents Eimi Takano‘s solo exhibition “The first play house” along with mini group exhibition “Toast-Chan Custom Show”. Eimi Takano is an artist whose works revolve around the theme of memories/recollections that she presents in the forms of cute anthropomorphic animals and food. Her artworks have been exhibited in art galleries in Kanto area (Japan), United States, Germany, and all over the world. She graduated from Tokyo Zokei University with a degree in oil painting. However, when she encountered pop surrealism art toys during her visit to the United States, she decided to focus on creating the things that bring smiles and enjoyment to everyone’s lives.

アリスと豆の木にて、高野えいみの個展、　”はじめてのおままごと”を開催します。トーストちゃんをテーマにしたミニグループ展「アリ豆夏のパンまつり」も同時開催します。日本の関東地方を中心にアメリカやドイツなど世界中で展示を開催してるアーティストです。彼女は”想い出”をメインテーマに動物や食べ物をモチーフに可愛いキャラクターを造り続けています。東京造形大学の油絵科を卒業。コンテンポラリーアートの作品を多数製作発表していたが、アメリカのポップシュールレアリスムやアートトイの存在に出会い、「もっと人を楽しませ喜ばせる作品を制作したい」と思いコンテンポラリーアートと決別。

Takano Eimi creates her art dolls to tell stories. Currently, she has two main continuing series: Onigiri Zaka (Riceball Hill) and Memory Bears. Onigiri Zaka is a fictional town where her stories of kind and unique children are set. And the Memory Bears are a series of cute bear sculptures with huge eyes in which you can see their personal recollections.

彼女の作品には現在２つのメインシリーズがあります。一つは”おにぎり坂”シリーズ。もう一つは”メモリーベアーシリーズ”と名付けられています。おにぎり坂シリーズは架空の街【おにぎり坂】でくらす優しくて個性的な子供達の物語を人形で制作しています。　メモリーベアは大きな瞳が特徴の動物の彫刻シリーズです。その瞳には彼ら、彼女らの想い出がたくさん詰まっています。

During this exhibition, there also is a mini group show called “Toast-Chan Custom Show” consisting the works of a group of artists she invited to customize blank art toys based on one of her most popular characters. The artists whose works are exhibited in this group show are: Eimi Takano, Loutka, ZER[0], Reconquista TOKYO, Hakka-Chan, Gyunyuya, atelier rivi, don⭐︎, Kaoru Samidare, Eimondo Watanabe, KINOPI→S, T-Rush, and Ima Sakura. During this show, many of the artworks are available for purchase. If you are interested in acquiring any of the works, please don’t hesitate to contact the gallery. The gallery’s owner, Tokyo Jesus, is fluent in both English and Japanese.
