Self taught Spanish artist Ramon Maiden’s solo exhibition ‘Ink Me’ opens at Lay Low Fine Art Limited Editions in Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain on 5 December 2014. Ramon uses vintage postcards and posters to express his passion for history, ancient religions and politics. Drawing over found pieces in his unique tattoo style, Ramon subverts the original works meaning to create new dialogues on modern culture, which overlap and redefine the ancient. Vintage sex symbols and religious icons are transformed into modern tattooed hotties, or dramatic narratives on the relevance of religion in today’s educated society. Always rebellious, Ramon uses bold graphic tattoos to create controversy and invite debate.
“Many of the artists I follow not only deal with tattoos, but they are also very good at other types of art. Lola Garcia, Seth Wood, Dr. Lakra, Annie Frenzel, Sebastian Domasche, Matthias Boechtter, Ryan Mason or Amina Charai are excellent tattooists, great artists and friends.” ~ Ramon Maiden (wanderlust king, art maniac and custom and vintage addict)
Don’t miss the opportunity to see Ramon’s incredible work in person. ‘Ink Me’ is a collection of both limited edition prints and originals.
