On Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 6 – 10 pm, DAX Gallery (Costa Mesa, California, USA) will be presenting the works of CalArts Alumni who will – once again – showcase their works in tribute of their late professor, Michael E. Mitchell. For many CalArts Alumni, the “Body of Palace” was a room where they had epiphanies that dramatically changed their perspectives. The group witnessed, collaborated and/or inspired these changes in themselves. Because they shared these intense moments, they acquired deep understandings and respect towards one another. By creating abstract forms using vibrant colors, they interpreted their personal life journeys by telling open-ended stories where the audience are free to fill in the blanks.
The artists whose works will be featured in this exhibition are: Samir “Evol” Argandiwall, Jeremy Bernstein, Tony Caropino, Dave Creek, Linda Dorn, Jon Gomez, Adam Greene, Nick Jeong, Morgan Kelly, JR Smith, Jimmy Thompson, Chris Wood, and Jin Kyu Anh.
