Menton J. Matthews III, also known as Menton3, is one of those famous names of contemporary painting. Both musician and illustrator, the American artist is coveted for his dark sexy art. The heroïnes of Menton3 would not please the feminists at all : skinny, bound in leather or sexually offered, they flirt with SM and erotica. But if you are able to embrace the bondage shoes and cadaveric flesh, the paintings and illustrations of Menton3 have much more to offer. Fascinated by the unconscious and symbolism, the artist plays with the different iconographies of religion, alchemy and history to create an atmosphere of heavy esotericism and mysticism. Then, the dark pinups are more powerful than sexy, high priestesses sharing their deep knowledge or witches ready to take control.
