Kylli Sparre has long searched for a way to express her creativity. When this young Estonian decided that despite years of dance studies, ballet would not be her career, her inner artists questioning led her to photography. Of course, dance influences her work : each of her surreal images is capturing an elegant movement, a silent dance within a silent world.
But the work of this 34 years old image conjurer cannot be narrowed to her schooling. Her photo manipulations are full of symbols connected to her love for nature, literature and arts. Her models, lost in some Scandinavian Emily Brontë kind of landscape, illustrate the smallness of the human being in Nature and question relationships between us and our surroundings. In its entirety, Kylli’s work takes us to a place of magical woodland creatures, of theatrical leap into the wild world.
