On April 5th the three person show of Ciou, MalOjo and Dima Drjuchin was unleashed with great fanfare at New York’s Cotton Candy Machine. Horned cyclops boxers, cannibal gods and brain beach parties are all part of the fun as these three artists treat viewers to a show that is equal parts nightmare and offbeat fantasy. All three artists drive their work with the contrast between grotesque and benevolence and draw viewers into a reality that is unsettling and fascinating at once.
The Cotton Candy Machine is the creation of the artist couple Tara McPherson and Sean Leonard, and for the last three years has been hosting notable lowbrow and pop surreal art shows. Ciou, MalOjo and Dima Drjuchin’s group show will be on display until May 4th and more information is available via the Cotton Candy Machine website.
