In fairy tales, we see girls turn into roses. However in this instance, roses turn into talented photographers. As is the case with the mysterious 23 years old Ukrainian artist who goes by the name The Wild Rose. This rose has no thorns, but an eye for unique portraiture, balancing Disney princesses with dark Gothic elements. Her universe is full of pop Victorian self-portraits, conceptual shots and breath taking black and white experimentation. From darkness to vivid colors, she pokes beauty out of oddity and bizarre from romanticism.
Refusing the label of photographer, the Rose explains her art by the joy creation brings her:
For me it is a kind of need to see and create something beautiful, sentimental, imaginary. It also made me deeply fall in love with things that are considered unaccepted, mysterious and bizarre, with a little touch of obscurity in them, and made me realize their infrequent untamed beauty.
